Discover insight into hip hop's broad musical and cultural movement, often championed by the young and outspoken, and hear from rising and more established talent in Melbourne who are using video to document, celebrate and express their own unique style of hip hop.
Tom Ellard from Severed Heads has re-released an electronic version of the three cassettes called "One Stop Shopping" which were originally included with SLUG Magazine in 1981.
The project aims to help document the Brisbane dance parties, hip hop and sound art communities from 1987-2001. I chose this period because it is when I lived in Brisbane and went to many (many) of these events. The hope is that one day there will be a printed / POD & online book - possibly a pdf/ipad book/zine too - until then, this site (& my email) is used to collate information.
