Brisbane Dance Parties Archive Online Book

Brisbane Dance Parties Archive Online Book

the project aims to help document the Brisbane dance parties, hip hop and sound art communities from 1987-2001. I chose this period because it is when I lived in Brisbane and went to many (many) of these events. I relocated to Sydney for work then overseas, then back to Sydney, so I'll probably include some things up to 2004 also (prior to moving o/s). I hope there will one day be a printed & online book - possibly a pdf/ipad book/zine too - until then, this site (& my email) is used to collate information.

We turn 15 this year, having ereleased the Evidence CD in 1994 - and have something special planned for later this year. Watch our space.

We've got a few new releases up on iTunes, including the Pure Bunk back catalogue, the Sphere back catalogue, a new release from Inertia (now known as Projekt Inertia), Victor Xray, Alieonix, Squelch, Low Key Operations, and more. We've got more planned shortly including Blood Party, The Isle, etc. Fun to be had.

We've created a Picasa Web album featuring all sorts of pix and paraphernalia from 15 years of Brisbane Electronic action. If you have related imagery, we'd love to receive and add it to the collection. Check out http://picasaweb.google.com/trans.com.au and get in touch.

For all this, head over to our home page at http://www.trans.com.au and you should also join our Yahoo group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/trans_com) so you're up to date.

Lots of love

Trans:Com T newsletters & label

The Transmission Communications / Trans:Com label published newsletters called "T" from 1994 to 2006 (& possibly longer - I only have them up to 2006). These newsletters are a great insight into the label and bands released on the label as well as commentary about the Brisbane community in general - different styles are mentioned from experimental, electronic, techno, industrial & more.
